The Bachelor of Arts in Counseling Psychology is a 125 credit hour, four year degree program that seeks to produce qualified and competent counselors who uphold Christian morals and ethics and who will be able to do their work decently and be able to conceptualize the counselee in the light of psychological theory and counseling skills.

The overall goal of the Bachelor of Arts in Counseling Psychology degree is to train competent counselors to work in various institutions in Kenya and in the world at large. The prospective counselors will be able to influence the society with positive moral and spiritual values. The program will also prepare the student for counseling positions.

The program aims at preparing students to face the challenges of modern living by enhancing their abilities to address life’s social and psychological problems that face them.  It also aims at equipping the students with knowledge and skills to enable them to help people of all ages to discover and apply the riches of their abilities. Students will be trained as competent counselors to play their part in helping the victims of the growing tide of anxiety and social breakdown.

Admission Requirements for the Program

To be accepted into the Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Management, a student must:

  • Have a mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ (plus) in English and Mathematics or a diploma (passed with credit or C+) in any field of study
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the English Language by scoring a ‘B’ in an English Proficiency Test or its equivalent. The student who scores less than a ‘B’ may be admitted but he/she will be required to undertake a remedial English course during his/her 1st The student must complete the course with a passing grade or will need to retake the course until he/she receives a passing grade in order to graduate.
